After the truck is unloaded, we set about the task of getting ready for the crane. The telehandler is used to pre-build the 'Bent' sections on the subfloor, or on flat areas of dirt adjacent to the foundation. The timber 'Bents' are set on blocks to keep them out of the dirt, and to facilitate placing cinch straps around them prior to raising. Our intention is to have everything ready for the crane to pick up and set in position prior to the crane's arrival. Crane operators make the same money whether their boom is moving or not. We like to keep their boom moving after they arrive. Typically, while the truck is being unloaded, the subfloor is being accessed for 'blocking' and 'correct size' and 'square'. Then it will be 'layed out' to locate the post locations.
