A timberframe structure supports itself on a series of posts. This means that the structural loads of the home travel down certain load paths and collect in the posts, or the points of contact to the floor. Whenever this timberframe sits on a wooden subfloor, each post must be accounted for with 'load bearing blocking' under the plywood floor. This can be accomplished in a number of different ways. Each picture shows the 'blocking' and a few different methods. This needs to be completed before we arrive to raise the frame.
